History & Heritage

Just 1km off the coast of Yeosu Expo Park, Odongdo is carpeted by dense forests of broadleaf evergreens, camellia trees, and giant bamboo groves.

During the 1592 Imjin War, Admiral Yi planted arrow bamboo on the island to supply naval archers.

In 1935, a 768-meter breakwater was constructed connecting the island to the mainland.
