삼성SDS는 8월 3일 해남 솔라시도에서 국가 AI 컴퓨팅센터 착공식을 연다고 발표했다. 과학기술정보통신부는 앞서 민관 협력 방식의 사업을 추진할 컨소시엄을 선정했다.
계획상 준공 목표는 2028년이며 AI 반도체 약 1만 5천 장을 갖춘다. GPU·NPU 연산 자원은 스타트업, 중소기업, 대학과 연구기관 등을 지원하는 데 활용할 예정이다.
아직 구축 계획 단계의 인프라로, 현재 일반 이용이 가능한 서비스를 뜻하지 않는다. 이용 절차는 운영기관의 후속 공고를 확인해야 하며, 현재 신청 기한이나 확정 요금 인하는 제시되지 않았다.
