Medical Tiers & Referral
- Tier 1 (Clinics): Neighborhood local clinics for primary care. No referral required.
- Tier 2 (General Hospitals): Secondary facilities with inpatient beds and specialized surgery.
- Tier 3 (Tertiary University Hospitals): Major university teaching hospitals. Requires a referral slip (진료의뢰서) for NHIS insurance discount.
National Health Insurance
Mandatory enrollment for registered residents after 6 months (or immediately upon formal employment). Covers 60–80% of approved treatment, consultations, and prescribed medicine.
