What is happening

Seoul will hold its fourth Hanok Week from October 2–11, 2026, across Bukchon and Seochon. The city lists 82 programs bringing traditional houses into focus through exhibitions, guided visits and cultural activities. The official English announcement was published on September 23; the festival has not started yet.

Why it matters for visitors

The program offers ways to explore how traditional housing is used, beyond looking at buildings from the street. Guided tours and independent visits are separate options. The schedule includes 17 exhibitions and nine performances, alongside hands-on activities. Each program has its own venue and arrangements.

How to plan a visit

Applications for activities requiring reservations opened through the Seoul Hanok Portal on September 18, with selection by lottery. An application does not guarantee a place. Some programs may admit visitors on the day when booked participants do not attend; this is not a general walk-in guarantee. Check the chosen program's availability and instructions before travelling.
